The Charlotte Public Schools Great Start Readiness Program is a grant funded program through the Michigan Department of Education for children who meet income eligibility guidelines and other risk factors based on family and environmental situations.

Children learn general school readiness skills for preparing to enter Kindergarten, such as: how to get along in a group setting, learning to share, quietly lining up to leave the classroom, how to interact at teacher directed activities, and how to conduct yourself while riding the school bus.
