Michelle Marchand

Hello!  I’m Michelle Marchand, and I love teaching fourth grade English Language Arts and Michigan Studies here at Weymouth.  I graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, in 1986, with a B.S. in Elementary Education and completed additional coursework for my Michigan teaching certificate at Western Michigan University.  I completed my M.A.E. (emphasis: curriculum and instruction) from Spring Arbor University in July of 2005.  My professional interests include research/data analysis, curriculum alignment, and balanced literacy.

My family and I have been a part of the Charlotte community since 1994.  My husband, Gary, works as a quality technician at Dart Container’s corporate office in Mason.  Our oldest daughter, Annastacia, is a student at Liberty University, where she is part of the Army ROTC program.  She is majoring in international relations: strategic intelligence analysis.  Our younger daughter, Ellyse, is a junior at Charlotte High School where she’s involved in marching and symphony band.  She also enjoys deer hunting and working out.  In my spare time I enjoy walking, scrapbooking, stamping, singing in my church’s praise team, and teaching 4th and 5th grade boys and girls at our church, Bible Baptist of Leslie. During the summer my favorite place to be is with my family, camping and exploring new and familiar places.
